PRIMARY OR SECONDARY LYMPHEDEMA: Lymphedema is an abnormal swelling of the tissues which usually occurs in the extremities but can occur throughout the body. This condition occurs when the lymphatic system has either failed to develop properly or has been damaged by surgeries, removal or lymph nodes, traumatic injury or damage by parasites.
