Liz Olivas is the President and Founder of The Therapeutic Alternative. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of Dance at Ohio University in 1985, where her strong foundation in kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, and movement-based therapy sparked her interest in therapeutic bodywork. She became a licensed massage therapist in the state of Florida in January 1987.

In 1994, Liz became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist after training with Hildegard Wittlinger of the Dr. Vodder School in Walchsee, Austria. In early 2019, she further advanced her expertise by becoming certified in Modern MLD State-of-the-Art Advanced Certification, incorporating evidence-based research and ICG fluoroscopy of live lymphatic function.

Liz is also an Advanced Practitioner and Registered Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy® with the Society of Ortho-Bionomy® International®. With over 30 years of private practice experience, she has dedicated her career to developing effective, non-invasive approaches to relieving tension, stress, and both acute and chronic pain while minimizing trauma to surrounding tissues.

Her work integrates advanced lymphatic therapy and Ortho-Bionomy® techniques, with a particular focus on post-mastectomy lymphedema, post-mastectomy pain syndromes, and post-surgical complications such as edema, scar tissue, and structural misalignments.

Beverly brings over 36 years of experience in therapeutic bodywork and has been a valued member of the team since 2010. Her extensive background and dedication to continued learning have made her a trusted practitioner in specialized lymphatic care.

In 2001, Beverly began advanced studies in European Lymph Drainage Therapy through the Dr. Bruno Chikly method, becoming a Certified Lymphatic Specialist. She has also completed Dr. Vodder’s Basic and Therapy I Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) trainings, further strengthening her expertise in supporting the lymphatic system and promoting whole-body wellness.

Beverly enhances her sessions by incorporating Tuning Fork Therapy into her lymphatic treatments, offering a unique, integrative approach that supports relaxation and energetic balance.

After joining The Therapeutic Alternative, Beverly was introduced to Ortho-Bionomy®, and she has since become an Associate Practitioner. This gentle, osteopathically based approach complements her work, allowing her to provide deeply personalized and restorative care.

Outside of her therapeutic practice, Beverly enjoys painting with watercolors and continues to explore her passion for this artistic medium. Her artwork is proudly displayed at The Therapeutic Alternative, reflecting her creativity and commitment to beauty both in and outside the treatment room.

Yini (pronounced Jeanie) is a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Advanced Practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy® certified by the Society of Ortho-Bionomy® International®. She brings a unique and diverse professional background to her healing work, including an MBA in International Business and experience as a former Industrial Engineer in Caracas, Venezuela.

Yini began her journey into massage therapy in 1997 after seeking natural, non-invasive ways to relieve back pain and support the body’s healing process. She became a Florida Licensed Massage Therapist in 1998 and has maintained a private practice since 1999, specializing in the relief of acute and chronic pain.

Over the years, Yini has studied a wide range of modalities, including Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, and Pre-Natal Massage. In 2004, she was introduced to Ortho-Bionomy®, a gentle and highly effective approach that quickly became the foundation of her practice. She continues to advance her training as she works toward higher levels of certification within the modality.

As a Board Certified Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork practitioner, she takes a focused, results-driven approach to care, supporting clients through every stage of their recovery journey.

Michelle Smith is a highly skilled and compassionate licensed massage therapist with advanced certifications in lymphedema therapy and post–plastic surgery care.
