Post Mastectomy Pain Syndrome is a type of chronic post operative pain. The symptoms generally are found in the chest, underarm, arm, and hand. They include:
Numbness – Burning Pain – Shooting Pain – Dull Ache – Tingling – Hypersensitivity – Muscle Weakness.
Our treatment of PMPS uses Advanced Lymphatic Therapy which is a blend of therapies that are gentle and non-invasive. ALT includes:
Lymphatic Therapy – Decongests tissues, softens skin, refines scar tissue, and reduces swelling.
LTU 904 Laser – Stimulates lymphatic pumping, softens proteins, refines scar tissue.
Ortho-Bionomy – Reduces muscle tension, increases range of motion, and improves structural alignment which may otherwise be impinging on nerves and vessels.
This is a gentle treatment that fully respects the integrity of the tissues. It aims to relieve symptoms without causing any residual trauma to surrounding vessels, nerves, or soft tissues. As part of a long-term wellness approach for post-cancer clients, self-care education is also emphasized and encouraged.
This holistic method addresses post-surgical symptoms by supporting tissue decongestion, scar refinement, muscular tension relief, improved structural alignment, and the restoration of functional relationships among the body’s systems.
Developed by Liz Olivas, this treatment evolved over more than 20 years of clinical experience working with post-mastectomy lymphedema in private practice. Through this work, she recognized the need for a very gentle therapeutic approach to help individuals living with pain and discomfort following cancer treatments.
By combining lymphatic techniques with Ortho-Bionomy, this method supports structural alignment and has shown effectiveness in relieving symptoms associated with post-mastectomy and radiation therapy recovery.
